A Silhouette InstaLift targets the deep layers of skin on a patient’s face and neck. The procedure uses threads that are composed of polyglycolide/L-lactide (PLGA). Silhouette InstaLift is made from polyglycolide/L-lactide (PLGA). PLGA is a well-recognized biomedical copolymer. Once the sutures are inserted under the facial skin, PLGA acts by stimulating fibroblasts, followed by collagen production.

A Silhouette InstaLift treatment is performed on an outpatient basis. Treatments typically take 30 to 45 minutes. Before the procedure, your face will be marked to guide your specialist. You will be given local anesthesia for the areas on your face where the thread will enter and exit, and then your face will be prepped with sterile solution.
The sides of your face will be threaded individually. Dr. Sharlow will use a needle to make an insertion point in the mid-face. From here, the threads will be pulled until they exit near the hairline.
